Description

As an RFIC Transceiver Validation Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing test strategies, developing validation frameworks, and ensuring cellular SoCs meet rigorous design specifications. Working at the integration of hardware, firmware, and silicon design, you'll leverage specialized test platforms and automation to characterize and optimize RF performance across diverse operating conditions. Your contributions will directly impact the connectivity experience for Apple customers around the world, as you collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive silicon bring-up, debug complex issues, and continuously improve validation methodologies.

Responsibilities:

Design comprehensive test plans by interpreting design specifications to validate RFIC performance against rigorous design requirements

Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts in Python/Matlab that integrate seamlessly with embedded firmware and specialized test equipment

Perform end-to-end RF measurements and block-level characterization (LNAs, Mixers, Amplifiers, PLLs, VCOs, ADCs/DACs, etc.) to optimize performance across operating conditions

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (RFIC Design, RF Systems, RF Firmware, RF Hardware) to drive silicon bring-up, troubleshoot issues, and ensure product quality

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of relevant industry experience in RF validation, RF testing, or Silicon characterization.

MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Understanding of board schematics and layout; experience defining hardware board requirements for lab validation.

Experience with mmWave technology.

Experience with Digital Signal Processing verification and algorithm validation.

Demonstrated experience supporting ATE engineers and/or mass production testing.

Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams in silicon bring-up and validation environments.

Minimum Qualifications

BSEE required.

Hands-on experience bringing up and testing RFICs, including system integration, characterization, and optimization.

Strong verification, problem-solving, and debugging skills with demonstrated ability to identify and resolve complex RF issues.

Proficiency with lab equipment, including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, phase noise analyzers, oscilloscopes, DC analyzer etc.

Experience with bench automation and scripting languages such as Python.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $120,300 and $210,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
